I've been whisked away to Bath

I mentioned in my last post that my lovely boyfriend Phil was taking me away for a surprise weekend, this is not something he has been able to do before as we dated all through uni where money was pretty tight for us both but now that he has a real job he was so excited to be able to organise something nice for us.
While he tried to keep the destination a surprise I eventually got him to tell me that we were heading to "near Bath" but that is all I could find out. I'm useless with secrets I can't bare not knowing and he's not great at keeping them either!

I was so pleased to be going to Bath though as its such a beautiful place, we stayed at a beautiful Country Golf hotel called Tracy Park. Phil thinks the booking was a total fluke as it was far nicer than he expected and very reasonably priced.

The main building houses the reception, dining rooms and the wedding/conference areas and the rooms are in separate buildings like in the photo above and although you only have a room and en-suite it was a bit like having your own little cottage for the night.

The room was really plush and the bed was the comfiest I think I've ever slept on! There was a huge Tv and a mini fridge with bottles of chilled water and milk for the tea and coffee. The boy did good!

We used the park and ride which was really easy and so much cheaper than parking would have been and made our way into bath centre. The buildings are so beautiful I was practically mesmerised the whole time, I would happily up sticks and move there, except for the crowds as it was unbelievably busy. We were so lucky with the weather too a rather strangely nice day for us.

We did all the touristy things like visiting the Roman Baths which were amazing, I got a bit bored of all the museum displays and preferred just sitting near the water soaking the atmosphere up, while Phil went around making sure he had heard/seen/read everything.

After this we headed to the Bath Thermae Spa where we had to queue for an age (and pay out a fortune) to go for a swim in the thermal spa water. This was the absolute highlight of our trip as it was so special. The spa has a large pool and jacuzzi on the ground floor then a steam room with different scents like tea tree and camomile on the next floor and finally an open air rooftop pool with the same hot spa water and views of all over bath. I loved the rooftop pool and it felt totally surreal being there especially as we hadn't really planed it I just threw my swimsuit in just in-case. It was such a lovely thing to do and nice to have a relaxing swim with no kids an no lengths to swim either! I cant wait to go back either with Phil or on a girly weekend!

From one good trip to one that's not so good, my holiday to Ibiza has been cancelled as I was going with my grandparents but my nan has a chest infection and has been advised not to travel abroad. She's pretty upset and feels like she has let me and Granddad down, but to be honest I hadn't really got my head around us going and it had crept up really quickly so I wasn't that excited (we were meant to leave in the morning, so perhaps I wasn't ever gonna get excited). I wonder if Debenhams will take back my unworn tankini?

Have you guys been to bath or in the Bath Thermae Spa? As a non-holiday treat I'm going to go get my hair cut tomorrow as I'd been putting it off until after the holiday, so to fringe or not to fringe?

What I've been up to...

I've been saving up my photos this months to do one big what I've been up to post, I'm not very good at instagramming as I have to do it on my iPad while I don't have an iPhone although that is set to change soon as I am buying my sisters when she upgrades to the iPhone 5 (I love the look of it, so so jealous). Here is what I have been up to!
My sister was a bit down so I helped Harry send her a message / My room was a tip while I was sorting it ready for the new bed / afternoon tea & cakes with Leanne and Georgina who are both lovely blogging girls, only 3 of us turned up to the South Wales blogger meet which was a pity as we had loads of fun and it would be so nice to see a few more faces next time! Plus the Pettigrew tearooms were amazing, I can't wait to go back.
I am reorganising my make up and beauty storage so I bought this beautiful ted baker make up bag / My new bed - am I too old for bunk beds? (my lovely friend sarah was getting rid of this so I nabbed it! Perfect for when my sister and I are both home from uni) / visiting my friends beautiful baby Ayla and taking presents!

A little trip to Swansea for Ice cream and beach times, I went to uni in Swansea and started dating my boyfriend there (we already knew each other from school) so it holds a lot of amazing memories for me and it was so nice heading back! If your ever i the area try a Joe's ice cream, The Westbourne for drinks and Zaika for all you can eat Indian food!

I've been feeling really good the last few weeks so I have been making the most of getting out and about, I'm even going on a surprise weekend away this weekend that my boyfriend is organising ( bless him! )

Then I'm off on holiday on the 26th to Ibiza but the quiet side, with my grandparents (I think they have taken pity on me!) I'm hoping the sun and resting will do me some good. It was pretty last minute as I only booked 2 weeks ago so finding swimwear has been a nightmare as I've got quite a full bust and it's the wrong time of year! I did manage it though so perhaps I will post about it soon.

Have you guys ever been to Swansea or gone back to your uni town after leaving? Anyone know what the weather is like in ibiza this time of year?

Best bargain beauty - MUA Undressed

I hate to admit it but I have always been a little bit of a makeup snob sticking to the same high end products and ignoring everything else, but reading blogs has opened my eyes to a few bargain beauty products that really deserve their hype!

My first is the MUA undressed palette at only £4 this is one of my most used products. The similaritys between this and the naked palette are undeniable so I only bought this to see if I would use these colours before splurging out on the naked palette but now I see no point in that as I'm so happy with undressed.

The packaging is plain and simple and I like that you can see inside, the pans are quite small but you certainly get your moneys worth!
There is a mix of matte and shimmer colours, I prefer the shimmer myself which is good as there are more of those and all the colours blend really nicely with each other.

I'm so impressed with the mua palatte and I am already picking out my next one although most of my favourite colours are included in this one anyway!

What is your favourite MUA palatte? I'm definitely converted to bargain makeup these days so there will be more to come, what else should I try?
