Mood Board #3

Mint & Teal Bedroom
I love how calming and fresh these rooms look the perfect place to relax. My favourite colour is usually pink but this blog has definitely got a teal theme, maybe I should update my header and see if the blog posts follow.  One day I'm hoping to show you some before and after photos of a flat of my own. It will be interesting to see if I end up with rooms like my mood boards or if I change my mind by then.

Shopping with my little sister

My sister H is away at uni most of the time, but this week she broke up with her boyfriend so popped home for some food & fuss. In full on cheering up mode I took her shopping to the local retail park to have a look at the sales and spend the last of our xmas boots vouchers. She wasn't too heartbroken so we had a really nice day and she was ever so good with my useless shopping stamina (pesky illness).
Heres what I picked up.

Barry M Instant Nail Effects 323 Croc £3.99 Hopefully get a review of this up soon! I'm looking forward to having a try and hoping it will give a nicer look than the shattered ones, also I haven't seen this type anywhere before would like to see it in more colours maybe some more subtle ones.

The jewellery sale in Miss Selfridge is always a goldmine for me especially when everything is £1!  Bracelet

Necklaces are not online but similar to some I've been looking at on etsy, I would love a real gold version but lets see how much I wear these first!

One Day Asda £6 I loved the book and really enjoyed the film version too (once I got used to the odd accents) so at £6 I had to pick it up.

Moisturiser £1.99 I couldn't find the St Ives one in my want post, but I love the smell of mango so here's hoping I'm just as happy with this one, even though I'm not so fussed on the packaging. So far it feels lovely on my skin and the smell is subtle enough not to interfere with my perfume but still yummy when I put it on.

Scheduled posts

So it seems I haven't figured out the scheduled post as this was meant to reach you on Thursday!

Why am I blogging?
I have seen lots of these posts on blogs and I find it really interesting to see why all the lovely bloggers I have been reading about spend so much of their time and effort creating these fab blogs.
My reason isn't a great one sorry, its because I'm unwell. It started in October, I woke up feeling absolutely normal until I reached down to unplug my laptop and I sort of collapsed. After that I have continued collapsing almost daily and have accumulated other symptoms like constant tiredness and feeling very weak.
I have suspended my PGCE and moved home to be looked after properly.
This all sounds like doom and gloom but it has meant a chance to relax, spend more time with my family & my dog and because of it I have found a ton of great blogs and bloggers. Got to make the most of things I guess.
Unless I get a miracle cure and have good news then this should be the last post about rubbish things like being ill!

Peek inside my make-up bag

Yesterdays First Friday was meant to be about my brand new (to me anyway) Instax 200 camera, I'm so excited about this! However the film hasn't arrived yet *advantage point to digital*  so instead and a bit late here is a peek into my make-up bag.

Foundation : Lancome Teint Miracle in 101
Flawless foundation that really makes a difference to my look so much more polished than if I skip this step and essential for covering my annoying red cheeks (think bright red from ear to nose and chin rather than a sweet pink flush!) I have used lancome for ages and it used to be Teint Idole, until a lovely assistant in John Lewis suggested trying the miracle which was lighter and more moisturising than the idole and cheaper too!

Mascara : Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes
Also suggested by the lovely John lewis assistant!after spending ages working out how to use the tapered brush properly this really makes my eyes look a lot bigger, does a great job curling and doesn't irritate my eyes at all. Its easy to remove but stays in place all day and doesn't require multiple coats to get the look I want but can be built up for the evening.

Eye-liner: Lancome le crayon khol in noir
Amazingly this came free with my eye-liner but I will definitely buy it at full price as it is so much softer than the many others I have tried but nice and dark too.

Concealer : YSL Touche Eclat No 1

I adore this. I have been buying it for ages as under eye circles is my biggest beauty problem! Everyone raves about this product and I have tried a few cheaper versions as well but always come back to this one. I try to time it so I have one for my birthday (July) and one for Christmas as it is so expensive but it lasts pretty well . Does get a bit mucky looking though.

YSL Touche Eclat

Lipstick : Clinique different lipstick in 04 a different grape
This lipstick came as part of a lipstick/gloss duo in the Clinique gift set I had for Christmas last year, I didn't like the gloss much but the lipstick was the perfect shade for me so I have now bought it again. I love Clinique packaging and I adore the whole Clinique skincare range too.

Blusher : Bobbi Brown
This was a gift from my sister I'm so impressed that she picked the perfect shade for me, Its very pigmented so a very light sweep is all I need but I had to have a few goes before getting it right. This has lasted me ages as I use it every day and it still looks barely touched excellent value for money.

Bobbi Brown Blusher

Brushes : Bodyshop blusher & eye-shadow brush and un-branded foundation brush
I love the range of bodyshop brushes and they come in great gift sets at Christmas at reasonable prices too! My really expensive foundation brush that I bought with my Lancome foundation has become so clogged up with make up that however much I try to clean it I still get an orangey tinge to my face. I really need to have a brush cleaning routine. Now I use a brush that was less than £5 from boots its not as nice as the Lancome one but it does the job and is not orange yet.

Body Shop Brushes

I am missing a great eye-shadow a primer and an eyebrow pencil / kit. So I am on the hunt for these to complete my kit, I hate card packaging or anything to grown up looking so its not easy for me to find things, but I will hopefully be updating you soon with my new finds.

Mood Board #1 - Workspaces

I love looking at fashion craft and home interior mood boards and I have been creating my own for ages ready for when I get my own place (soon hopefully). I don't have a desk area in my mums house so this is something I'm really desperate for here are some of the pictures I've saved for inspiration.

love

So the point of this blog is things I love and here's a few to get us started:

1. Printed Jersey dresses with elasticated waists like these. I already have so many, but I reeeally love the river island dress!

2. Puppies/dogs - My dog harry is a miniature schnauzer, not a a puppy any more but still as cute!

He is also a youtube doggie - Attention seeking Schnauzer *check him out*

3. Designing my blog logo I used a program called Serif Drawplus X4 -£13 from amazon and so easy to use.

Cariad

cariad

The word "Cariad" is Welsh for love, beloved, sweetheart or darling and is derived from the Latin word "carus", which means love or loved one. This is a blog about everything I love, everything lovely.
Im Jess, I've had a little set back in my life plan ( I keep fainting :S and we don't know why) which has given me plenty of sofa and laptop time, I've become a blog addict!
I love fashion, beauty, lifestyle, wedding *not even engaged* and crafty blogs. Seriously my bookmarks have quadrupled!
I have been so totally inspired by the beautiful images and creative ideas that I think its my turn to give it a go!
