Kate moss lipstick

I have been looking for the perfect rose coloured lipstick and I think I've come pretty close with this lovely Kate Moss lippy I got from the Rimmel stand in my local Superdrug. I was initially put off the range as I don't tend to buy products by celebrities but in this case I totally fell for the colour. The photographs don't really do it justice as they seem a little more blue than in person.

The packaging is a lovely sleek black with the red Kate signature, which I think looks more expensive than the £5.49 spent, it has a matte finish though which means after a few days of it being in my makeup bag its already got foundation all over it.

I chose shade 5 and I have to say all the Kate Moss shades were lovely and they were totally unlike any other colours on the shelf much more my style so I'm sure I will be back for more. The colour is the perfect rose in the tube but a little darker on me so it's not quite what I wanted but I do still love it.

The photograph is slightly bluer and brighter than in reality. The formula is creamy and didn't dry my lips at all, it is well pigmented and for the look I wanted I used only a few dabs of it and blended it out. Considering I used so little of the lipstick I was very impressed with how it lasted I could still see traces of it 4 hours later. It also had a lovely smell which wasn't off putting at all, it reminded me of those dolly mix sweets!

Wow scary big lips but hope you can see the colour!

What do you girls think of Kate Moss lipstick? Are you more or less inclined to buy something with a celebrities name on it? also I'm very quickly running out of my favourite LancĂ´me foundation, so I wanted to know if you guys think I should stick to something I know and like or try out something new?

Lazy blogger

I think every post needs a picture so this is a bit of welsh countryside for you!

I've been a bit useless on the blogging front recently and I have no good reasons why, although I might try and blame it on my lovely family who have all been making an effort to keep me occupied and stop me moping about since my boyfriend moved down south.

I'm coping quite well as he has been home nearly every weekend and I even braved the train to visit him last weekend, total nightmare! The train was so full everyone was standing and since I've been ill I can only manage a few minutes of standing still so panic set in. I ended up sitting on the floor near a young family with the same idea and luckily a seat was available from Bristol onwards so I dived into it. It was worth it though as we had a lovely weekend together and I'm definitely more excited at the prospect of moving to join him some time soon.

My camera on my blackberry is rubbish so I don't have any decent photos of my trip, hopefully I'll be getting an iPhone (passed down from my sister) soon so I can inundate you with snaps.

The boyf met me at maidenhead and we had a wander around the town and stopped for a few drinks in the pub to escape the rain. I then very cleverly ripped the only pair of legging I brought with me, a huge rip from my knee to my thigh and had to race into Dorothy Perkins for an emergency pair!

My boyfriend is staying with his grandparents who I have met a few times before and they were so lovely and made me feel really welcome all weekend. It's perfect for him as he is a 10 minute drive from work and saving a ton of money on rent. It's nice for him to spend some time with them as well!

On the Saturday we headed to Westfield shopping centre which was amazing! You can tell I'm from a tiny valley as I was so blown away by the scale of it. Though I don't think I have ever walked so far in my life, I will definitely be going again when I'm all healthy as I didn't manage a third of what I would have liked to have done. It's my birthday on the 31st of this month so my lovely boyfriend wanted me to pick out a few gifts (I'm so picky that it's a minefield trying to buy me surprises) I'm a major bargain hunter so he was getting a bit fed up of me struggling to spend any money. I have written a post on all the lovely things I picked up but will have to wait until after my birthday to show you as boyfriend is keeping it all to wrap up! We had food at nineteen10 which was a Mexican stand on the balcony and it was lovely I had chilli con carne and he had a steak burrito, we shared some nachos and both had drinks for a little over £20 which I thought was excellent value for shopping centre food.

We had a chill out day on Sunday which I certainly needed and then I braved the train back home but it was a lot better this time round thank goodness.

Hope you don't mind my rambling post, I've already cut half of it down!

I've got lots of posts planned for the next few weeks I'm really planning to up my game a bit.

Instagramming

I now have instagram, so I have been having fun playing and snapping away. My username is cariadity of course so give me a follow!

1. My first instagram shot of my room from my bed, I love how a few tweaks and effects can make a photo of my curtains look all cool and arty.

2. This is a bit of a features overload using idarkroom which is an iPhone app but still works pretty well on the iPad, and is of my lovely miniature schnauzer Harry who just loves the camera.

3. The boy is home! I mentioned a few posts back that he has got himself a proper job just outside London which is a good 2 hours from me. The plan is for us to see each other most weekends but he worked last weekend so I've got him home for a full 4 days this week. It's been lovely hearing about his adventures, he is a journalist so this week he has been meeting some well known people, watching a robot birth simulator (ew!) and having a go on a Segway. I can't wait until I'm able to go join him hopefully in the next year.

4. I got my hands on this months Elle magazine for the St Tropez gradual tan in light medium. You get 75ml free with the magazine which costs £3.90 which I think is pretty good value and the sample is definitely enough to give it a good test out. I've never been fussed on expensive monthly mags as I hate all the adverts and most of the products are waaaaay out of my price range but I've actually enjoyed reading this one, probably not enough to give up my beloved company magazine though!

I love instagram posts but what do you guys think?

My new iPad

I'm attempting to post my first blog post from my shiny new iPad! My lovely family all pitched in to buy me an iPod touch for my birthday but i decided to put in some of my own money as well and get the iPad instead as I think I will have much more use for it. My birthday isn't until the end of the month but my sister will be on holiday until just before it and we needed her discount card (I am entitled to discount as I live with her but I don't have my own card) and there was no way I would be able to leave it in the box for 3 weeks! So far I'm in love with my new device!

Since I've been unwell I've spent a lot of time going between my house, my grandparents house and my boyfriends house as I'm not usually left alone to look after myself for too long. So I've been carrying my bulky laptop back and fore. I'm hoping that now I can take my iPad instead and do all the things I want to do with it, especially since my boyfriend moved to London and I'll be catching the train to his.

My main concern was whether I'd be able to blog from my iPad and after reading this post by Gem I am hoping this will be easy to do. I'm also dictating quite a lot of this post which is pretty cool. I got the iPad 3 with Wi-Fi not 3G and its white.

I've also got a berry coloured case for it which can double as a stand and it has nice grey suede like fabric on the inside which makes it look more expensive and this is also a birthday present.

I didn't get the 3G because I'm waiting to my phone contract to run out so I can get an iPhone which I'm hoping I'll be able to use the personal hotspot on that and I cant justify the extra cost to which is around £100 plus the contract all year when I don't really plan on using it out and about especially well I'm ill.
